The Congress was opened by Dr. Milan M. Petrović, director of the Institute and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, prof. Dr. Branko Bugarski, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and prof. Dr. Martin Waehner, President of the International Scientific Committee.
The international scientific committee of the Congress comprised 34 members, of which 22 were from abroad (17 countries). Over 100 participants, from the country and abroad (over 20 countries – Brazil, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Denmark, Egypt, Philippines, France, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, USA, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey). A total of 88 papers were presented, 50 oral papers in different sections and 38 papers in the poster section; 23 papers/contributions of participants from abroad and 27 by domestic authors were presented orally, and in three poster sections, 6 papers of participants from abroad and 32 papers of domestic authors were presented. All submitted papers were reviewed and published in electronic form in the Proceedings of the 4th International Congress „New perspectives and Challenges of Sustainable Livestock Production“ (ISBN 978-86-82431-71-8, COBISS.SR-ID 201594700, National Library of Serbia, Belgrade, www.istocar.bg.ac.rs), total: 821 pages.
