The symposium was opened by the president of the International Scientific Committee, prof. Dr. Giacomo Biagi (Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bologna, Italy) and Dr. Nikola Delić, Director of the Institute for Animal Husbandry and Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
Prof. Dr. Miroslav Trajanović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia and Dr. Boban Kostić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, addressed the gathering on behalf of the patrons, as well as Dr. Ivan Bošnjak, State Secretary for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue of the Republic of Serbia.
The international scientific committee of the symposium, composed of 48 members, of which 19 were from abroad (11 countries). 41 foreign participants took part in the work of the symposium (from 23 countries – Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Romania, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, France, the Netherlands, Croatia, Switzerland, Sweden and Spain), as well as 39 domestic participants from renowned scientific research and educational institutions in Serbia (Institute for Animal Husbandry, Belgrade-Zemun, Faculties of Agriculture in Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture, Čačak, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Belgrade, Scientific Institutes of Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade and Novi Sad, Institute for the Application of Science in Agriculture, Belgrade, Maize Research Institute “Zemun Polje”, Zemun-Belgrade, Institute for Fodder Plants, Kruševac). A total of 80 papers were presented, 45 oral papers in different sections and 35 papers in the poster section; 27 contributions by participants from abroad and 18 by domestic authors were presented orally, and in three poster sections, 14 papers of participants from abroad and 21 of domestic authors were presented. The results of the latest research that provided answers to the biggest challenges in the field of genomic selection, phenomics, sophisticated management, preservation of agrobiodiversity, smart agriculture in conditions of climate change and biosecurity were presented. The symposium was closed by prof. Dr. Martin Wähner (Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Brenwud, Germany) and Dr. Nikola Delić, Director of the Institute of Animal Husbandry, Belgrade-Zemun and Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
