Wool is one of the most valuable yet most underestimated gifts from our sheep. Natural, warm, renewable, and fully biodegradable – it stands as a symbol of sustainability, tradition, and environmental care. 🌿
The Institute for Animal Husbandry has been conducting research on the quality and valorization of Serbian wool for decades – from traditional processing and handmade crafts to innovative eco-friendly applications in agriculture and biotechnology.
Unfortunately, wool today remains undervalued – not only locally and nationally, but also regionally and across Europe, where a large share of this natural fiber is discarded or underutilized.
October is the right time to remind everyone:
WOOL IS NOT WASTE – WOOL IS THE RESOURCE OF THE FUTURE! ✨
Throughout this month, we invite farmers, producers, artisans, researchers, and all enthusiasts to share their good practices, experiences, and ideas related to wool.
We are open to dialogue, collaboration, and learning from each other – because only together can we bring Serbian wool back to its deserved place. 💬🤝
