The symposium was opened by Prof. Dr Martin Waehner, President of the International Scientific Committee, Dr. Milan M. Petrović, Director of the Institute for Animal Husbandry and President of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Violeta Anđelković, President of the Managing Board of the Institute for Animal Husbandry and Dr. Saša Stojanović, Assistant Minister for Technological Development and Transfer of Technologies and Innovation System of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

The International Scientific Committee of the Symposium was comprised 30 members, of which 19 were from abroad (15 countries). More than 40 foreign participants took part in the symposium (from 17 countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Croatia, Spain, Switzerland), as well as 40 domestic participants from renowned scientific and research institutions in Serbia (Institute of Animal Husbandry, Belgrade-Zemun, Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Čačak, Veterinary Faculty, Belgrade, Scientific Institutes for Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade and Novi Sad , Maize Research Institute “Zemun Polje”, Zemun Polje, Institute of forage plants, Kruševac). A total of 77 papers were presented, 40 orally within various sections and 37 within the poster section. 26 papers by foreign participants and 14 by domestic authors were presented orally, and within three poster sections, 11 papers from foreign participants and 26 by domestic authors. All reported papers have been reviewed and published in electronic form in the Proceedings of the 11th International Symposium “Modern Trends in Livestock Production” (ISBN 978-86-82431-73-2, COBISS.SR-ID 245942028, National Library of Serbia, Belgrade, www.istocar.bg.ac.rs).
