The event brought together representatives of basic, regional, and main breeding organizations, organizations with special authorizations, as well as numerous experts, professors, researchers, and representatives of institutions in the fields of biology and livestock production. The seminar gathered more than 250 participants from across Serbia, and over the course of three days, through presentations and discussions, it addressed current topics in the following areas:
- application of new software solutions and information systems in livestock production,
- conservation of genetic resources and characterization of autochthonous breeds,
- breeding value estimation and molecular-genetic analyses,
- international cooperation and phenomics in livestock science,
- modern approaches in the selection and nutrition of domestic animals.
Inspiring lectures delivered by representatives of the Institute for Animal Husbandry, ZOO Center Plus, the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković,” and the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad reminded us of the importance of linking science and practice. Representatives of the Directorate for Agrarian Payments of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management once again emphasized the necessity of cooperation among all stakeholders for the preservation and advancement of livestock production.
Sponsors VS ZOO LEK (Bogatić), SEMEX PK BB (Belgrade), and PROGNOSIS BIOTECH (Belgrade) contributed to the quality of the program and helped strengthen the connection between research, practical application, and advisory work.
In addition to the rich professional program, participants enjoyed social activities, including group excursions to Uvac and visits to sheep, goat, buffalo, and horse farms of future champions, as well as a formal dinner that served as an opportunity to broaden discussions in an informal setting and deepen cooperation among breeding organizations.
The seminar once again highlighted the importance of unity and continuous education within the system of breeding organizations, as well as the strength of collaboration between institutions, science, and practice in the development of Serbia’s livestock sector.
