We are proud to share that our innovative system “BeeLab Testing Cage” has been awarded the bronze medal at the World Beekeeping Awards (WBA) APIMONDIA International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations 2025 World Beekeeping Congress in Copenhagen.
Behind this achievement is Dr. Slobodan Dolašević, a researcher whose work was recognized among 300 entries from 36 countries worldwide.
The BeeLab Testing Cage is a laboratory cage for testing honeybees, enabling diverse research – from nutrition and genetics, to toxicology, pesticide effects, lifespan, temperature influence, and many other factors. Its uniqueness lies in its adaptability to various experimental needs: it has variable volume, a feeding module adaptable to researchers’ requirements, and a unique magnetic system for removing dead bees without opening the cage. This innovation lays the foundation for the standardization of laboratory testing in cage experiments with honeybees.
