The symposium was opened by Dr. Čedomir Radović, director of the Institute for Animal Husbandry and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr Marina Soković, assistant minister for science of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and president of the International Scientific Committee, prof. Dr. Giacomo Biagi, Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bologna, Italy.
The symposium was closed by Dr. Čedomir Radović, director of the Animal Husbandry Institute and chairman of the Organizing Committee, and Senad Mahmutović, State secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia.
The international scientific committee of the symposium comprised 53 members, of which 23 were from abroad (17 countries). 24 foreign participants (from 17 countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Italy, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Switzerland and Sweden) took part in the work of the symposium, as well as 30 domestic participants from top scientific research and educational institutions in Serbia (Institute for Animal Husbandry, Belgrade-Zemun, Faculties of Agriculture in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Čačak, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Belgrade, Scientific Institutes for Veterinary Science in Belgrade and Novi Sad, Maize Research Institute “Zemun Polje”, Zemun Polje, Institute of Forage Plants, Kruševac). A total of 55 papers were presented, 31 oral papers in different sections and 14 papers in the poster section; 15 contributions by participants from abroad and 16 by domestic authors were presented orally, and in three poster sections, 10 papers of participants from abroad and 14 by domestic authors were presented. All submitted papers were reviewed and published in electronic form in the Proceedings of the 13th International Symposium „Modern Trends in Livestock Production“ (ISBN 978-86-82431-77-0, COBISS.SR-ID 46411785, National Library of Serbia, Belgrade, www .istocar.bg.ac.rs).
