The Institute for Animal Husbandry had the pleasure of hosting colleagues from the Republic of Bulgaria — Kalina Slaneva, Nevyana Stancheva and Yordanka Ilieva from the Agricultural Institute – Shumen, within the Staff Mobility for Training programme of the Bulgarian Agricultural Academy.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to the scientific and research activities of the Institute for Animal Husbandry, as well as to the main areas of work and opportunities for developing future cooperation between the two institutions.
Together with their host, Dr Čedomir Radović , the Bulgarian colleagues visited the Institute’s experimental base, livestock farms and laboratories, where they had the opportunity to become familiar with part of the infrastructure, research capacities and practical aspects of the Institute’s work.
Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of experience and knowledge related to the application of digital technologies in cattle and sheep breeding in Serbia, including their current level of use, effects of implementation, practical challenges, research methods, as well as software solutions used for data analysis and herd and farm management.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss possibilities for future joint work, current topics for scientific projects and the preparation of joint scientific publications.
🌍 Such meetings represent an important step towards strengthening regional scientific cooperation, connecting researchers and exchanging knowledge that contributes to the modernisation and improvement of livestock production.
