The symposium was opened by Dr. Milan P. Petrović, president of the Organizing Committee, prof. Dr. Giacomo Biagi, President of the International Scientific Committee, Dr. Čedomir Radović, Director of the Institute for Animal Husbandry, Dragan Satarić, Advisor to the Sector for Technological Development and Technology Transfer and Innovation System of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
The International Scientific Committee of the Symposium comprised 50 members, of which 23 were from abroad (17 countries). More than 40 foreign participants (from 20 countries – Argentina, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Egypt, Philippines, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine Croatia, Spain and Switzerland) took part in the work of the symposium, as well as 40 domestic participants from renowned scientific, research and educational institutions in Serbia (Institute for Animal Husbandry, Belgrade-Zemun, Agricultural Faculties in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Čačak, Faculty of Veterinary medicine, Belgrade, Scientific Institutes for veterinary medicine in Belgrade and Novi Sad, Maize Research Institute “Zemun Polje”, Zemun Polje, Institute of Fodder Plants, Kruševac). A total of 73 papers were presented, 32 oral papers in different sections and 41 papers in the poster section; 19 papers of participants from abroad and 13 works of domestic authors were presented orally, and in three poster sections, 17 papers of participants from abroad and 24 papers of domestic authors were presented. All submitted papers were reviewed and published in electronic form in the Proceedings of the 12th International Symposium “Modern Trends in Livestock Production” (ISBN 978-86-82431-76-3, COBISS.SR-ID 279920908, National Library of Serbia, Belgrade, www.istocar.bg.ac.rs).
